Sustainable Travel with die "hyggelige" Dänen

Die "hyggelige" Dänen has partnered with the Growing Trees Network Foundation to donate 19 DKK for every booking to plant a tree. The trees will be planted in a local biodiversity forest, and we are working with the Varde Municipality to find the perfect location in the area. As a company, we believe it is our responsibility to care for our planet and ensure that biodiversity is improved for the benefit of future generations.

Forest Planting Event - A Milestone for a Greener Future

On May 22, 2024, we will mark a significant milestone for the local community in Stundsig, Varde, as we take the first step towards a greener and more sustainable future. We are proud to announce that in collaboration with the Varde Municipality, Growing Trees Network Foundation, Naturplant, our homeowners, and our valued guests, we will plant the first trees at our forest planting event at Ølgodvej 36, Stundsig, 6800 Varde.

Community Collaboration for Sustainability

This event is a testament to co-creation, local engagement, and our shared commitment to ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come. By taking bold steps to plant trees, we are investing not only in our own future but also in the future of our planet.

About Growing Trees Network

Growing Trees Network I/S, and later Growing Trees Network Foundation S/I, was founded by Lars Heiselberg Vang Jensen and Kim Nielsen. In 2012, Lars envisioned planting 1 million trees within 3 years to protect our clean drinking water. He shared this idea, and since then, we have been working together to make it a reality.

New public forests are not just beneficial for the climate. Planted over groundwater reservoirs, they help secure our clean drinking water, create more habitats for plants and wildlife, and provide new recreational areas for the Danish people.

The core values behind the public forest concept are that everyone can contribute, everyone can make a difference, and everyone can have a positive experience. It's about collectively creating maximum value for people, animals, and nature.
